T O P I C R E V I E Wtuxedo meowSo sometimes I stay up North for part of the winter. This year I stayed for the whole winter. After the garden dies back in the beginning of winter, I toss tomatoes, peppers, and other vegetables onto the top of the garden soil. Anything I might otherwise compost. Squash and melon, too. In the spring, I find many plants sprouting and growing. The tossed peppers and tomatoes do the best as well as various beans grow and produce. Wilted cabbage kind of "screwed" into the Earth produce many little cabbages which are fun to eat. Cucumbers and squash will produce at least a few. Laziest gardening ever. In the fall I also pick various flower seeds from done flowers and they usually grow as well. I find the less I mess with them the more abundantly they grow. RandallGreat idea!ValentineIt is a good idea, I'm going to try it. RandallHope it works!RandallIt would make for a great book: Laziest Gardening Ever!RandallEven I can do it.PlutoSurvivorIt must look a horrid mess, but very fun.
